Meet Vanessa Sierra!

Fresh off the Broadway run of A Beautiful Noise, Vanessa Aurora Sierra joins Encore Performing Arts as our vocal coach and associate director/choreographer for Hadestown Teen Edition. We are beyond thrilled to provide our young artists with the opportunity to learn from a Broadway theatre professional of her caliber. With her extensive experience and deep passion for the craft, Vanessa will guide our performers through high-level vocal training, helping them develop the skills and confidence necessary to bring the powerful music of Hadestown to life.

Beyond her role as a vocal coach, Vanessa will also serve as the associate director and choreographer, bringing her expertise to the overall artistic vision of the production. She will mentor our young artists throughout the entire process, offering invaluable insights into storytelling, movement, and performance. Her presence will ensure that every performer, whether in a leading role or ensemble, receives the support and training needed to elevate their craft and grow as artists.

With this production of Hadestown Teen Edition, we are excited to revisit Encore’s Show with a Pro program, which has been a defining part of our commitment to arts education. Show with a Pro blends the talents of seasoned industry professionals with the energy and enthusiasm of young, aspiring performers. These professionals take on key roles in the production while also serving as mentors, providing our young cast members with firsthand knowledge of what it takes to succeed in the theatre industry.

This year, Show with a Pro features an incredible lineup of mentors, including Broadway and regional theatre veteran Rhett Guter, Vanessa Aurora Sierra, and other guest professionals. Through their guidance, our young performers will gain valuable insight, hands-on experience, and the inspiration to pursue their artistic ambitions with confidence. We are honored to offer this opportunity and can’t wait to see the magic that unfolds on stage.
