Welcome to the Fall 2024 Session of Aspire Performing Company 

Are you ready to step into the spotlight and bring out your wickedly wonderful side? This fall, Aspire Performing Company is thrilled to announce an exciting new session featuring our spellbinding production of Villains

Join us for an unforgettable journey where aspiring actors aged 8-18 will have the chance to explore the dark and daring characters that make our favorite stories so thrilling. Whether you're a seasoned performer or just starting out, this is your opportunity to shine in multiple performances, showcasing your talent and creativity on stage. Unleash your inner villain!

This year, we’re combining our efforts with solo auditions for the show. This means that your audition will not only determine your role in the Villains ensemble but also your eligibility for solo parts.

Bring your A-game and be prepared to showcase your vocal range, acting prowess, and stage presence. We are excited to see your talent and versatility in portraying some of the most iconic and complex characters in the theatrical world.

WHAT TO WEAR

  • Comfortable clothes to dance in.

  • Jazz shoes optional

PERFORMANCES

In addition to our flagship performance Villains Night we will have the opportunity to potentially perform at the following:

  • September 28th- Swiss Days Parade

  • October 11 or 12- Staheli Farms Field of Screams

  • October 16-18 Huntsman Games

  • October 25th and 26th- Private Performances   

Theses dates are subject to change but will be finalized by July 12th

CONFLICTS

All conflicts need to be listed on audition forms. Any other conflicts will need to be approved on a case by case basis. Only two excused absences are permitted per semester. Only one unexcused absence per semester. Unexcused means: no showing or other reason for missing rehearsal that was not approved by Kelby or Kristen.  Any more than that will result in removal from certain numbers or entire performances without the option of tuition refund.

IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND AUDITIONS IN PERSON

Thank you for your interest in auditioning for Aspire’s Fall Semester. You have expressed a need for auditioning virtually due to scheduling conflicts. In order to submit a virtual audition, please complete the following steps. 

  1. Be sure you have registered for auditions including your headshot and resume. 

  2. When you record your videos, please remember to state your name and what you are singing. 

  3. Submit a video vocal audition to production@encorepa.org before 11:59 pm Saturday July 13. You can pick from the songs available at Audition tracks

  4. Watch for an email with the choreography video and watch the video. 

  5. Submit a video of you doing the choreography from the video to production@encorepa.org before 11:59 pm Sunday July 14th. 

Once these have been completed, you will receive casting information with everyone who auditioned before August 1st. Once again, thank you for your interest in this program! We look forward to seeing your audition.

“It takes a village!” At Aspire Performing Company, we believe that strong communication and collaboration with parents are essential to the success of our young performers. We are looking for parents who would be interested and willing to play the role of parent liaison volunteer for their performer’s group.

Meet your director!

Kelby Tyrrell

Kelby is a graduate of Dixie State University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dance. While attending DSU, She held the position of Dance captain for Dixie's song and dance performance team, Raging Red, where she was able to travel and perform nationally and internationally. Kelby was crowned Miss Dixie State University in 2016 and had the opportunity to compete at Miss Utah in June of 2017. Kelby is currently a dance instructor at Westside Studio in St. George, UT. In 2016 she had the opportunity to choreograph and dance for Merrill Osmond’s, “Alive & Kickin’”, at the Casa Blanca in Mesquite, NV. She has been fortunate to be involved as a choreographer and performer in community theatre’s throughout Southern Utah. Kelby has been awarded many vocal and dance scholarships throughout high school and college. She has been involved in the performing arts as long as she can remember, and is grateful that she can make a career out of her passion for the arts.

Got Questions?

  • Aspire can accommodate ages 7-18. It should be noted that high school graduates are not eligible to participate as a performer.

  • Yes! Encore and Aspire want to welcome as many young performers as possible and don’t want finances to be an issue. That said, we only have a few scholarships available each semester so apply today! You can apply here.

  • Yes! We have taken our groups to California, Disneyland and on cruises to perform. There are always new performance opportunities for our groups!

  • Yes! We ask that each performance ne attended by every performer.
